                HUD Sim

HUD Sim is an iPad-based application that simulates the Heads-Up Display (HUD) and Primary Flight Display (PFD) of the Pilatus PC-21. It enables instructors and students to dynamically demonstrate and rehearse aircraft attitudes, navigation references, and symbology.

HUD Sim is intended to support early-stage learning and preparation by familiarising students with the appearance and structure of key flight symbology outside of high cost environments. By allowing students to visualise and engage with standard attitudes and display elements prior to simulator or aircraft time, the app aims to enhance comprehension, improve briefing efficiency, and make simulator sessions and aircraft time more effective

The tool was developed based on firsthand experience in the ADF Pilot Training System and is currently used within training schools. Development is ongoing, with a roadmap that includes circuit trainers, navigational tools, quiz modes, and briefing support integrations.

Whether supporting fast-turnaround training tools, developing aviation-specific apps, or creating ground-based simulation aids, we can provide full lifecycle support, from early design and prototyping through to deployment and sustainment.

This is an example of the type of application development capability we can deliver.

  • For organisations looking to modernise their training systems or deliver capability-aligned learning tools, we can assist with:

    • Custom aviation training applications (iOS/Android/tablet-based)
    • Engineering-grade accuracy for visualisation and procedural training
    • Support aligned to Defence context, security constraints, and standards

If you're supporting a program requiring tailored aviation app development or lightweight training tools, particularly in pilot training or other procedural learning environments, we’d be happy to explore how we can help.
